What is the Giv Energy All in One and is it worth it?

As an accredited installer for GivEnergy batteries we may show a little bias here, but we believe with good reason.

In the growing renewables energy market, the team at Tewdric constantly reviews products in order to offer our customers great quality and good value.

Giv Energy is high on our list because of the company’s clever thinking and British ownership. It offers well priced solutions, in particular, in battery storage and inverters, making PV solar energy a smart future-proof solution. Today, practically every install we do includes battery storage.

The All In One combines energy storage into one system. The battery allows the energy generated to be stored and the inverter enables the automatic switch from the ‘on grid’ to ‘off grid’ as may be required. In a smart home set up this can offer uninterruptible power back up in an emergency (for example, outages), or the ability to switch between renewables and grid power based power on consumption or tariffs.

How does it work? The Giv Energy All in One mainly works as an on grid system meaning the electricity generated by your solar panels can be used to power your home by day but requires either batteries or the National Grid for power when it is not being generated. The All in One can be set up to make the switch as necessary for your needs.

It benefits from, what we refer to as Smart Energy Consumption, enabling any excess electricity produced (and not stored in your batteries) to be fed back into the grid for others to use, and for you participate in Grid Services whereby you can gain payments from Energy suppliers and aggregators when you can reduce electrical consumption during specific times.

With an All in One it also means you can charge the battery during off-peak hours when electricity demand is lower and less costly, then discharge the battery at peak times keeping your energy rates to a minimum.

For our business customers, the system is of modular design enabling up to 6 units to be connected in parallel.

Cost-wise, we believe it is a good investment and the payback is impressive. We’re already enjoying the data some of our customers are sharing with us and how they are adapting to become Smart Energy Consumers.
