On the road to net zero with Jaga Brothers

Take a look at how major distribution company, Jaga Brother Transport Ltd, have taken their first leap into becoming a greener, more energy efficient company with the help of Tewdric Energy

Jaga Brothers Transport Ltd, a general haulage company, have been delivering materials all over the UK using their 45 trucks and 130 trailers since 2006.

Wanting to take the first step into renewable energy and helping the environment, Jaga Brothers contacted us here at Tewdric Energy to see how we could help. Ater a consultation and a site visit, we put a plan together to install Solar panels on their office roof and a battery storage system that would help generate as well as time shift electricity to power their premises. Installing the 28kW system meant that Jaga Brothers could have a fixed energy cost for around 25 years. Along with the optimised Solar system the Tewdric EMOS provides a huge financial benefit.

We asked James Hill, director of Jaga Brothers, what factors they considered when choosing Tewdric Energy as their solar panel supplier and fitter.

“Jaga Brothers decided to use Tewdric Energy because they are a leading supplier with a unique Energy Management and Optimisation Service (EMOS) with a wealth of knowledge in the renewal energy sector plus experience of working with DBW who are offering millions of pounds towards Green Energy Loan Schemes such as ours.”

James explained how Jaga Brothers Transport Ltd wanted to become more energy efficient by using renewable solar energy from their premises and help the environmental impact that we are all having on the climate.

Jaga Brothers Transport Ltd acknowledges that they operate and run diesel vehicles which doesn’t have a great impact on the environment, but we admire their drive in making their first step into becoming ‘greener’ and more environmentally conscious. Jaga Brothers Transport Ltd understands they have a way to go before becoming carbon neutral and running their trucks off 100% renewable energy, however they have made a start with our help.

Jaga are planning further energy developments with the help of Tewdric Energy.

At Tewdric Energy, we continue to support the ongoing technology implementation to maximise Jaga Brothers return on investment as much as possible.

We asked James Hill what he would say to other businesses like Jaga Brothers that are looking to improve their energy usage and ‘go green’?

“I would strongly advise all businesses to look at their business model and if possible, utilise Tewdric Energy and DBW to benefit their business by using renewable energy where possible, together we can make a difference.”

Installation of renewable energy systems are only a small aspect of the Work that Tewdric Energy carries out. Jaga Brothers were a very real case in point. Jaga wanted to be ‘Greener’ but they wanted to reduce their energy costs. Tewdric is helping with all aspect of their system from helping with selection of energy tariff, installing appropriate technology through to monitoring the systems and adjusting them to the ongoing demands of the business.

To maximise return on investment Tewdric offers a unique Energy Management and Optimisation Service (EMOS) which is able to monitor performance and automatically adjust systems remotely. This ensures the systems are operating at peak performance, faults identified and rectified quickly, firmware updates applied promptly and that energy generation is matched as perfectly as possible to consumption. Where there is excess energy produced we ensure that the maximum return is achieved even where this excess exceeds the National Grid thresholds for export. The Jaga Brothers installation is part of a wider Smart Local Energy System being built in the area.

The Tewdric EMOS as part of the renewable system can reduce return on investment by months if not years while increasing the climate benefits.

Phelps said we are pleased with our partnership with Jaga Brothers which is a successful business,  improving its efficiency, reducing costs and starting their ‘Green’ journey with us. We are particularly pleased that Jaga has selected our Tewdric Energy EMOS to maximise the benefits to Jaga over the life of the system.

This is just the start of a partnership between Tewdric Energy and Jaga Brothers and we are looking forward to helping decarbonize and expand the system over at their HQ.
